Bellator 119 Preview
Bellator MMA returns to Canada tonight with Bellator 119. It’s been nearly two years since the second largest MMA organization in North America held an event in Canada. Bellator 119 will be their seventh, the fifth at Casino Rama.
The card will feature the culmination of the Featherweight tournament final between Daniel Weichel and Desmond Green. Weichel (33-8) defeated Scott Cleve and Matt Bessette to gain entry into the finals, while Green (11-2) overcame Mike Richman and Will Martinez. The winner will get a shot at Pat Curran and the Featherweight championship at a later date. Bellator is known for its tournament format in determining contention for title bouts.
Other fights scheduled for the main card include a Welterweight matchup between Marius Zaromskis and Vaughn Anderson, as well as Nick Rossborough and Rapahael Butler squaring off in the Heavyweight division. Canadian John Alessio will also make his return to the Bellator cage as he faces Eric Wisely.
The preliminaries will feature five fights including a Featherweight bout between London, Ontario native Chris Horodecki and Brazilian Marlon Sandro. Also scheduled, Brian Rogers meets Adrian Miles in a Middleweight contest while Heavyweight Stuart Austin battles Craig Hudson. Rounding out the card, a pair of Catchweight bouts as Chris Kelades faces Malcolm Gordon and Jason Meisel takes on Remy Bussieres.
